Its composition is very similar to that of the natural carbohydrate fraction found in the stratum corneum of the human skin. Pentavitin is a highly concentrated aqueous solution manufactured according to GMP standards. It is the outcome of a carefully designed process of isomerization of plant derivative D-glucose. Due to its natural structure and composition, Pentavitin acts as a highly effective moisture regulator resulting in long lasting water retention in skin. Pentavitin imparts its moisture-attracting properties by binding to free amino groups of lysine in the keratin of the stratum corneum.
